Description

Overview

The Icon Suspension Uniball Upper Control Arm Kit, part number 58560, is an on-vehicle adjustable billet aluminum upper control arm system for the 2007–2017 Toyota Tundra. It replaces the factory upper arms and their ball joints, which Icon says restrict travel on trucks that see on or off-road use.

Icon fits each arm with 1 inch PTFE lined all stainless uniballs and a 17-4 stainless taper pin adapter. The setup raises the upper arm’s misalignment capability, so the wheels can cycle smoothly without binding on the factory ball joint. Icon recommends the arms alongside its 2.5 extended travel coil over shocks.

Alignment adjustments are made on the truck. The rod ends can be set with the arms installed, and an O-ring sealed cover cap keeps dirt and moisture from packing around the uniball. The arms are made in the U.S.A.

Key features

  • Billet 6061 aluminum arms, precision CNC machined
  • 1 inch PTFE lined all stainless uniballs
  • 17-4 high grade stainless steel uni-ball adapter pin
  • Adapter pin machined for an OEM-like fit with 3/4 inch PTFE lined rod ends
  • Adjustable on the vehicle to set wheel alignment
  • O-ring sealed uniball cover cap
  • Made in the U.S.A.

Tundra suspension considerations

Toyota Tundra trucks carry more weight than many smaller pickups, so the upper and lower arms, shocks and bushings all share the load of a full bed or towing. Upgrading the upper arms raises the travel the suspension can use, but the rest of the system still determines how the truck handles. Worn bushings or tired shocks can limit the benefit, so inspect them at the same time.

Keep the adjustment range in mind when setting the arms. Changing arm length moves the upper pivot and affects camber and caster, so record the original settings before loosening anything. Check the pinch bolts after the first drives and before a long highway run, and confirm the torque on the uniball mounting hardware during routine service.

Questions & Answers

Which Toyota Tundra years does the Icon 58560 fit?

It fits 2007–2017 Toyota Tundra trucks in the 1794 Edition, Base, Limited, Platinum, SR, SR5 and TRD Pro trims. Tundra years outside that range and Tacoma models are not covered, so match your exact year and trim before buying.

Is the Icon 58560 kit made in the USA?

Yes. The arms are made in the U.S.A. They are 6061 billet aluminum with 1 inch PTFE lined stainless uniballs and 17-4 stainless adapter pins.

How is the upper arm adjusted for alignment?

Loosen the pinch bolts, set the arm to the length you need, and retighten the pinch bolts. The rod ends adjust with the arms still mounted, so alignment can be set on the truck and then checked by a shop.

Should shocks or bump stops be replaced at the same time?

Not always, but inspect them while the arms are off. Worn shocks, cracked bump stops and tired bushings can change how the new geometry behaves, so replacing them during the same job often saves repeat work.
