Bumper mounting considerations
Front bumper light bars sit in the path of mud, rocks and water, so mounting position and sealing matter. Look at the bar’s cooling vents and wiring exit, and make sure nothing blocks airflow or traps moisture behind the lens. A lower bumper position also means the light sits closer to the ground, which changes the beam pattern compared with a roof mount.
Before drilling or bolting, confirm the bumper’s mounting faces and clearances, and dry fit the brackets so you know the bar’s final angle. Route wiring through a fused relay with strain relief at the bumper, and use grommets where wires pass through sheet metal. Recheck bracket bolts after the first few rough drives, and touch up any chips in the powder coat so the steel stays protected.
