Description

Overview

The ReadyLift Heavy Duty rear track bar bracket, part number 47-6438, is a bolt-on bracket that mounts directly to the rear axle housing of a Jeep Wrangler JK. It fits 3.0 to 5.0 inch lifts and corrects the rear track bar angle so the axle stays centered under the body.

The bracket keeps the rear track bar aligned with the axle housing and gives the axle a mounting point designed for severe articulation on the trail or in rock crawling. A track bar that is not set to the right angle on a lifted Jeep can leave the axle off center, and this bracket addresses that geometry.

The bracket is part of the Heavy-Duty Series and is made in the USA. The kit includes one bolt-on rear track bar bracket and its hardware.

Key features

  • Bolt-on bracket for the rear axle housing
  • Fits 3.0 to 5.0 inch lifts
  • Corrects rear track bar angle
  • Strong axle mounting point for severe articulation, per ReadyLift
  • Part of the Heavy-Duty Series; USA made per ReadyLift

Track bar geometry on lifts

A track bar keeps the axle centered side to side, and lifting the body changes the angle the bar works at. When the bar is too steep or too flat, the axle can shift and the rear end can feel loose or push to one side. A corrected bracket restores a more level bar angle, but the bar and its bushings still need checking.

Rear track bars wear through their bushings and ends, so look for play, clunks at highway speed and a steering wheel that sits off center after a drive. Inspect the bracket welds or bolt holes for cracks each time the tires are rotated, and have the rear alignment checked after any change to the track bar. Rear tire wear is often the first sign that axle position has moved.

  • Check bolt torque after the first few trail runs
  • Inspect bushings for cracks and separation
  • Recheck track bar angle after any suspension change
