Wiring and lighting checks
Rear LED lighting draws little current, but connections in the rear of a Jeep see road spray, mud and temperature swings. Before final assembly, confirm each connector is fully seated and locked, and that the wire routing keeps harness runs away from moving suspension parts, the spare tire carrier and the tailgate hinge.
Test every light before closing up the body. Turn on the tail lights, then shift into reverse to confirm the back-up lights respond. If one side is dim or out, check the ground point and the connector pins before assuming a light has failed. A poor ground is one of the most common causes of intermittent rear lighting.
Sealed connectors and dielectric grease help keep moisture out of the terminals. Route any spare wire into a loom and secure it with clips so it cannot rub through in the trail.
