Overview
The Poison Spyder DeFender XC inner fenders (part 14-02-099) are aluminum engine bay panels that come as a three-piece bolt-together assembly. Each fender is cut from CNC laser cut aluminum sheet. It gives splash protection to the engine compartment and a place to mount under-hood accessories.
Poison Spyder Customs leaves the layout to the installer. The fenders have no accessory mounting holes or brackets, and most stock inner fender components can be re-mounted by drilling a hole or fabricating a simple bracket. The maker has not found a way to keep the stock air box in place, so it recommends an aftermarket air intake or an open element such as a conical filter.
Key features
- Three-piece bolt-together assembly for each fender
- CNC laser cut aluminum sheet with a bare aluminum finish
- Splash protection for the engine compartment
- Space for under-hood accessories, with mounting left to the installer
- Stock inner fender components can be re-mounted with a drilled hole or simple bracket
Preparing the engine bay
Engine bay splash panels see heat, road spray and debris, and aluminum handles that exposure well when the edges are kept clean and the fasteners stay snug. Before cutting anything, sit the panels in place and mark where each accessory will go so the layout matches the hood, battery tray and wiring.
Keep power and fuel lines away from sharp panel edges and use grommets wherever wiring passes through. Bare aluminum shows scuffs and fingerprints quickly, so wipe the panels with mild soap and water, dry them, and check the fasteners after the first few drives since vibration can loosen them.
- Check hood clearance with the panels installed
- Plan the intake or open filter before fitting
- Use grommets wherever wiring passes the panel

It is sized for an engine compartment rather than a named vehicle, so measure your engine bay against the fenders before ordering.
Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
Installation requires cutting or drilling. Decide where each accessory will mount before you start, since the maker has no solution for retaining the stock air box and an intake or open filter will be needed in its place.
