Overview

The Omix-ADA 16523.54 is a front passenger-side Dana 30 axle shaft assembly with 27 splines for 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler (JK) models.

It is a preassembled Dana Spicer inner and outer axle shaft assembly, so the shaft arrives ready to fit. It goes in the front right position of the Dana 30 JK front axle.

This shaft comes as a complete inner and outer preassembled assembly, so the joint end is already attached. That can save work, since the shaft, joint and outer end arrive as one unit. It is made by Dana Spicer, the maker of the Dana 30 axle, and it is for the passenger side, so a full pair needs the driver side part too. Rubicon models use a different front axle design, so check the axle on your vehicle.

Preassembled shafts explained

A preassembled shaft combines the inner joint, shaft and outer joint into one unit, which removes the need to match and press joints separately. For many owners this means fewer small parts to lose and fewer steps to get wrong. The tradeoff is that a complete assembly costs more than a bare shaft when only one joint is worn.

Before choosing a preassembled shaft, check whether the rest of the front driveline is in good shape. Worn hub bearings, a torn boot on the other side or a bent tie rod can cause early failure. Inspect the front driveshaft and brake lines while the axle is out.
