Overview
The G2 Axle and Gear 1330 Series pinion yoke, part 90-2013-33U, is a forged steel yoke for Ford 8.8 inch rear axles that use a 1330 Series U-joint. It is built for U-bolt style mounting, which G2 says is preferred by racers and off-road drivers.
G2 Axle and Gear makes pinion flanges and yokes for a range of applications. This model is made for the 1330 Series U-joint and is designed to work with the D/S3-94-58X U-bolt kit. Hardware is not included.

Ford 8.8 pinion setup
The Ford 8.8 inch rear axle is common in many vehicles, and its pinion yoke is the link between the driveshaft and the gear set. Yoke wear shows up as clunking, vibration or play at the U-joint, and it can also damage the pinion seal surface if the yoke runs out of true. When replacing the yoke, check the pinion shaft threads and splines for wear first, because they determine how well the nut holds torque.
Before tightening the pinion nut, confirm the yoke is seated on the shaft and that the pinion preload is set correctly. A preload that is too light allows the pinion to move, and one that is too heavy accelerates bearing wear. Because this yoke uses U-bolt mounting, verify the U-bolt kit and joint series match before assembly, and recheck the nut after the first few drives.
