Driveline setup for yokes
A pinion yoke connects the driveshaft to the axle, and the U-joint angle has a strong effect on vibration. Setting the pinion angle correctly keeps the joint working within its limits and reduces wear on bearings. Measure the angle with the vehicle at its normal ride height, since loads change the geometry.
Clamp the yoke to the pinion with the right torque sequence, and replace the pinion nut if the setup calls for it. Check the U-bolt threads for damage before assembly. A worn driveline usually shows up as vibration at speed or a clunk when the throttle changes.
