Overview
The Artec Industries TR6055 is a low profile front truss for the 05-Current Ford Super Duty axle, a coil sprung front axle with a Ford kingpin. It is built from 3/8 inch mild steel for the truss top and 1/4 inch mild steel for the gussets.
The truss top bends around the differential, which gives more clearance in that area. The shape suits vehicles that need more uptravel or a lower center of gravity, and the truss is clearanced for the differential breather tube.

Before you install a front truss
A front truss ties the two axle tubes and the differential housing together, so loads from hard articulation and braking are spread across a wider area. On a coil sprung front axle, the truss is the main piece that keeps the housing from twisting under power.
Because the truss sits close to the oil pan and differential, measure clearance with the axle at full droop and full compression before welding anything. Check that the steering components, brake lines and any breather hose route cleanly over the new top plate.
- Dry-fit the truss with the axle installed before tacking anything
- Check weld seams and gussets after the first few trail runs
- Keep the breather tube routed away from the truss edge
