Description

Overview

The Tuff Country 97059 is an axle lift blocks kit for the rear suspension of Ford F-250 and F-350 pickups and the Ford Excursion. Tuff Country says block kits are an economical way to raise the rear end of many trucks and SUVs.

The list covers the 2000–2005 Ford Excursion in its Eddie Bauer, Limited, XLS and XLT trims, the 1980–1996 F-250 and 1997 F-250 HD, the 1999–2016 F-250 Super Duty, the 1983–1997 F-350 and the 1999–2016 F-350 Super Duty, in the trims shown for each.

Key features

  • Axle lift blocks for the rear
  • Economical way to raise the rear end
  • Rear axle position
  • Direct fit for the listed Ford models
  • Tuff Country part number T/C97059

Ride height and rear suspension

Rear lift blocks raise the axle relative to the spring, so the rear sits higher without changing the front. Because the front and rear heights then differ, the truck’s stance and steering geometry can feel different, especially at highway speed. Plan for that change before fitting heavier loads or towing.

Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks often carry heavier loads or tow, so the rear springs and shocks work harder once the axle is raised. Check the springs, shocks and rear bump stops for wear, and replace any worn components at the same time. Re-check every bolt after the first few drives, since the new block settles under load.

  • Check front and rear height after the install
  • Inspect the rear shocks and springs
  • Recheck U-bolt torque after the first drives
  • Consider a matching front lift for an even stance

Questions & Answers

Does the 97059 fit a 2008 F-250 Super Duty?

Yes. It fits the 1999–2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty, which includes 2008, in the trims covered. Check fit for your year, model and trim before ordering.

Does it fit a Ford Excursion?

Yes. It fits the 2000–2005 Ford Excursion in the Eddie Bauer, Limited, XLS and XLT trims. Confirm your trim before ordering, since other Excursion trims are not covered.

Is this a front or rear kit?

The rear position is the only one covered, so the kit is for the rear axle and does not raise the front. Check the front ride height separately if you need a level stance.

Does the kit change how the rear shocks work?

Yes, raising the rear changes the shock's working angle and length, so the shocks may need to be checked or replaced. Check them for leaks and wear after the install, and replace them if they feel weak on rebound.
