Overview

Driveline swap planning
A driveshaft swap usually involves more than the flange. Measure the transfer case output and the differential pinion before ordering, then confirm the yoke, U-joint and driveshaft length match the new setup. Mixing a 4-cylinder pattern with a V6 transfer case can leave the bolts unable to line up, so check the pattern on both ends. Keep the dust cover seated cleanly so grit stays out of the differential seal.
Torque each flange bolt to the value given for your vehicle and recheck after the first few drives. Driveshaft vibration often traces back to a loose flange or worn U-joint, so inspect both when the truck starts to shake.
