Revolver shackle wear
The Revolver shackle relies on its crush cushion to hold the folded position when the vehicle is at rest and during movement on rough ground. Over time the block can flatten, crack or pick up grit that lets the shackle drift. Once the block loses its shape, the Revolver may sit out of position and create extra stress on the mounting points.
When replacing a cushion, clean the pocket and check the shackle for wear, bent pins or looseness before fitting the new block. Nylon blocks are generally not repaired, so swapping the whole block is the practical fix. Inspect the cushion at routine service and after trail trips where the shackle has been loaded hard. If the Revolver rattles or moves out of place, check the cushion first.
