Overview
The RE1650 is an adjustable rear track bar, also called a Panhard bar, for the Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ) from 1993 to 1998. It lets you adjust axle alignment on lifted vehicles.
The lift range is written as 4.0 Inch -6.0, and the finish is gray powder coat.
Track bar setup on lifted Jeeps
A rear track bar keeps the axle centered side to side under the body. As lift height grows, the bar’s angle changes, and the axle can drift toward one side under load. Adjustability helps bring the axle back to center so steering and tire wear stay predictable.
When setting the bar, measure the axle position on both sides with the vehicle at ride height, and make small changes at each end. Recheck after the first few drives, because bushings settle and the bar may need a fresh setting after suspension work.
Inspect the track bar ends, bushings and frame mounts during regular service. Worn joints allow sideways play that feels like wandering on the highway. Related parts often replaced with a track bar include bushings, hardware and the axle bracket, so check them while the bar is off.
