Overview
The Body Armor 4×4 JK-6124-1 is a steel roof rack base for 2 and 4-door models, intended for use with part number JK-6124-2. It is designed with light tabs for auxiliary lighting and carrying options beyond a basic rack. Confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
The front crossbar carries four welded light tabs, and the rear bar carries two tabs for rear-facing lights. Access holes in the crossbars let wiring run under the tabs, and internal holes in the elbow joints carry the wire through the rack. For bikes, kayaks or a roof top tent, 5125 adapters work with Yakima towers and crossbars.
Key features
- Four welded light tabs on the front crossbar
- Two tabs on the rear bar for rear-facing lights
- Wiring access holes beneath the light tabs
- Internal wire passage through the elbow joints
- Front uprights bolt to the A-pillars with the four existing bolts on each side
- Rear uprights can mount to the frame rails with no drilling
- Dual process textured black powder coat finish
Wiring and light tab planning
The light tabs on the front crossbar and rear bar make it easy to add auxiliary lighting, but the wiring has to be planned before the uprights are final. Run cable through the access holes and the internal passages in the elbow joints so it stays out of the way. Use connectors rated for outdoor and vibration use, and leave a little slack at each joint so the cable does not pull when the rack flexes.
A rack with lights and carrying gear adds load to the roof and to the mounting points, so check bolts after rough trails and before long trips. Keep the light aim in mind; mounted high, lights throw farther but glare more to oncoming traffic on the road. Test each light before the final tightening so any change is easy to make.
- Plan wiring before final assembly
- Use weather-rated connectors
- Test lights before final tightening

Vehicle fitment
It is for 2 and 4-door models, with the JK-6124-2 as its companion part. Compare your year, model and trim with the covered vehicles before buying.
Compare your vehicle against the year, model and trim before fitting the uprights, and check the mounting method first.
Installation notes
Front uprights bolt to the A-pillars with the four existing bolts on each side. Rear uprights can go down onto the frame rails with no drilling, or mount to the body near the taillights with four drilled holes.
Mounting to the frame requires modifying the factory rear bumper, which is a permanent change, so decide on the mounting method before fitting the uprights. Plan the wiring for any auxiliary lights before final assembly.
What’s included
Includes uprights and hardware.
Not included: Auxiliary lights and wiring for the light tabs. Review the package contents, including any 5125 adapters, against your installation before starting.
