Overview
The ARB Shackle And Pin Kit OMEGS22 is a rear greasable shackle kit for the 2000–2015 Toyota Tundra. A shackle links the rear leaf spring to the frame and lets the spring change length as the suspension moves.
ARB designed the bolt-together assembly so the shackle pin does not bind out of angle against the side plate.
Key features
- Bolt-together assembly
- Two grease outlet holes in each shackle pin
- Greasable design for the rear position
- Direct fit for listed 2000–2015 Toyota Tundra trims
Greasing and inspecting shackles
Shackles let the rear springs change length as the axle moves, so the pins and bushings work through a range of angles on every bump. Dirt and water can work into the joint and cause wear or squeaks, which is why regular greasing matters. A bolt-together design can be easier to service because the parts come apart with ordinary tools.
Inspect the shackle plates for cracks, check the pins for play, and look for worn bushings that let the spring rock side to side. Use a grease gun on the outlet holes until fresh grease pushes out at the pin ends, then wipe away the excess. Periodic checks after muddy or wet trips help catch wear early, before it affects steering or ride.
- Grease pins until fresh grease appears
- Check shackle plates for cracks
- Test pins for play by hand
- Look for uneven rear tire wear
