Heim joints and articulation
Heim joints use a ball inside a housing, which allows the end link to move in several directions without the binding that rubber or standard joints can cause. That makes them useful on a truck that flexes on uneven ground, where the suspension needs room to articulate.
Heim joints need periodic inspection because the ball and housing can wear over time, and dirt can get into the joint. Check for play, look for cracks in the housing, and confirm the jam nuts remain tight. Re-check the threaded body setting after the first few trail runs, since the length can shift as the joint settles.
If you plan to lift the truck in the future, consider the threaded body setting now, since heim joints adjust over a range. Pair the end links with the sway bar bushings and frame mounts inspected at the same time.

There are no Ram 1500 entries after 2001 and no 2014 or later trucks, so newer Ram 1500 and later heavy duty models are not covered. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
Hardware is included, so no separate fasteners should be needed for the end links. Because the threaded body sets the fitment range, adjust the link length for your lift height before final tightening. Support the truck on stands before working under the front suspension.
