Shock choice and fit
Coil spring spacers are paired with the factory springs, and the shock is the part that most affects ride and control after the change. Shock length matters, because a leveled front may need a shock with the right travel for the new height. Check mounting points before buying a shock that is not part of the kit.
Shock wear shows up as a bouncy ride, fluid leaks, uneven tire wear or noise over bumps. Inspect the shocks at each service, and replace them as a pair on the same axle so they behave the same way. Bump stops and sway bar links also deserve a look after leveling.
