Overview
The Trail Gear 300830-1-KIT is a complete lift kit for the first-generation Toyota Tacoma. It lifts and levels the truck with a 3-inch front spacer, adds add-a-leafs at the rear and includes shocks and a differential drop kit. The lift height range is 2.5 to 3.5 inches.

Aluminum spacers and driveline
A front spacer lift raises the axle without changing the upper control arms, so the stock geometry is mostly kept. Aluminum spacers are lighter than steel, and the anodized finish helps the part resist corrosion in wet or salty conditions. Inspect the spacer surfaces and the bolts for galling or wear after each season of use.
Add-a-leafs stiffen the rear springs and help the rear carry weight, but they change the spring rate. The differential drop kit moves the pinion angle, which is why driveline vibration should be checked after the install. Brake proportion valve work is often done at the same time, so keep the brake system bled and tested.

Installation notes
