Description

Overview

The Rubicon Express RE7122PM is a 3-3.5 inch standard progressive coil suspension lift kit with monotube shocks for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK 2-door. It fits the 70th Anniversary, 75th Anniversary, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, Sport S and X trims.

Replacement lift springs, extended bump stops and longer front and rear stainless steel brake lines come with the kit. It is a short arm suspension system that keeps the factory mounting locations.

Monotube shocks are included at the front and rear, and the specifications list a 35-inch tire size and a lift height range of 0 to 3.5 inches.

Key features

  • Monotube shocks at the front and rear, included
  • Progressive coil springs as the replacement lift springs
  • Extended bump stops
  • Longer front and rear stainless steel brake lines
  • Direct fit to the listed 2007–2018 JK 2-door trims

Shock and spring pairing

Progressive coil springs ramp up in rate as they compress, so they feel softer over small bumps and firmer under heavy loads. Monotube shocks control that spring rate, and their damping needs to match the spring to keep the ride from feeling loose or harsh. When new springs are fitted, the shocks should be inspected for leaks and worn bushings, since a worn shock can make a new spring feel unsettled.

Extended bump stops limit suspension travel at the end of the stroke, and their effect is most noticeable on hard landings and at full compression. Before ordering extra parts, consider whether the track bar, steering linkage and sway bar links are in good condition, since they are often replaced together with a lift. Inspect them at the first service after the install.

  • Check shock bushings for cracks
  • Inspect sway bar links during the first service
  • Re-check steering components after a height change

Questions & Answers

Does the Rubicon Express RE7122PM fit a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sport S?

Yes. The 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK 2-door Sport S fits, which covers 2016 trucks. The Sport and Rubicon 2-door trims also fit.

What shocks come with this kit?

Monotube shocks are included at the front and rear, and the specifications mark shocks as included. The shock type is named for both ends.

Does the kit include longer brake lines?

Yes. Longer front and rear stainless steel brake lines are included, along with replacement lift springs and extended bump stops. Check the package contents against your installation before starting.

Can the existing sway bar links be reused after a lift?

Yes, if they are straight, free of play and the bushings are intact. Check them for cracks and bent ends during the install. Replace any link that shows play, since a lift changes the loads on the links.
