Description

Overview

The Rubicon Express 3.5 Inch Extreme-Duty Long Arm Lift Kit with Rear Track Bar and Twin Tube Shocks (part number RE7213T) is a long arm suspension lift for the Jeep TJ. Its lift height range is 3 to 4.99 inches, and the kit is sold as a 3.5-inch lift.

The kit is a complete suspension replacement that uses longer control arms to improve lifted suspension geometry. The longer arms add stability on and off road, reduce torque roll and improve trail traction compared with a standard short arm lift.

Key features

  • Chromoly long control arms
  • PT-Meg Super-Ride bushings, designed for on- and off-road performance
  • Adjustable control arms with serviceable Super-Flex spherical ball joints
  • Tuned lift coil springs
  • Rear track bar included
  • Twin tube shocks included
  • Three-piece belly pan for easy transfer case and transmission access

Setting up long arms

Long arms change the relationship between the axle and the control arms, so the suspension geometry differs from the factory setup. That difference is the reason the alignment and driveline angles have to be checked after the kit is in, since a lift this size changes how the drivetrain works through its travel.

Track bar and shock angles also change with the kit, and the belly pan has to clear the transfer case and transmission at full travel. Setting these items at the end of installation keeps the ride predictable and the steering centered, which matters on long highway runs as well as on the trail.

  • Set alignment after the arms are installed
  • Check driveline angles at both ends
  • Inspect the belly pan for clearance

Installation notes

A long arm system replaces the factory control arms and changes the suspension geometry, so the alignment and the driveline angles must be set after installation. Rubicon Express recommends the kit for trail use, and the three-piece belly pan should be checked for clearance once the kit is in.

Questions & Answers

Does the Rubicon Express RE7213T fit a 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ?

Yes. The kit is built for the Jeep TJ, and a 2001 Wrangler TJ falls within the 1997–2006 range. Confirm your vehicle's year, model and trim before ordering.

What lift height does the RE7213T provide?

The lift height range is 3 to 4.99 inches, and the kit is sold as a 3.5-inch long arm lift. The finished height depends on the springs and how the installation is set up.

Does the kit include shocks and a track bar?

Yes. The kit includes twin tube shocks and a rear track bar, along with tuned lift coil springs. Check the package contents against your installation before starting.

How often should long arm bushings and joints be checked?

Inspect the bushings and spherical ball joints at each service interval and after hard trail use, looking for cracks, play and torn boots. Worn joints change alignment and can make steering feel loose.

Does a long arm kit need a steering check?

Yes. Check the steering linkage and tie rod ends after installation. Longer arms change the geometry, so loose or worn steering parts should be replaced before the vehicle is driven hard.
