Overview
The Rubicon Express RE7142T is a 3.5-inch lift kit with twin tube shocks for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited. It is a direct fit for the Unlimited 4-door trims, including the 70th Anniversary, 75th Anniversary, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, Sport S and X models.
The control arms and other components are retained. The suspension allows 33-inch or 35-inch tires, and the lift height range is 0 to 3.5 inches.
The kit is built to upgrade later to a 3.5 to 4.5 inch Super-Flex or Extreme-Duty Long Arm system with additional components. Rubicon Express introduced its first long arm suspension for the JK Wrangler in 2006.

Before you buy
A lift like this changes the geometry of the front and rear suspension, so the caster, camber and toe settings should be checked once the truck sits at its new height. Pinion and driveline angles also shift with a lift, and vibration at highway speed is a common sign that they need attention. Plan for an alignment visit soon after the install rather than months later.
Planning for a later upgrade helps. If a longer arm system is on the list, pick components that match the control arm mounts and brackets so fewer parts are replaced later. Inspect bushings, greasable joints and bump stops at each service, and look for torn boots or leaking shock bodies, which show the old parts are wearing out.
