Before you mount a bar
A lower bumper mount sits closest to the ground, so it takes road spray, mud and stones more often than a roof or windshield position. Before fitting a light bar here, look at how the bumper, tow hooks and grille guard sit, and make sure the bar clears them when the steering is turned. Plan the aim as well, since a lower light suits close-range work on the trail better than long-distance coverage.
Wiring deserves the same care as the bracket. Run the harness away from moving parts and heat, and keep the connections sealed. A fused relay close to the battery protects the vehicle if the light draws more current than expected.
