Overview
The G2 Axle and Gear 98-2034-003 is a front chromoly axle kit for the Dana 60 axle, and its title names Ford F-250 and F350 applications. It is forged from high strength 4340 chrome/nickel alloy, which G2 calls chromoly, and carries extra material in the yoke area around the u-joint cap.
Confirm the model year and trim of your Ford F-250 or F350 before ordering. The kit is designed for off-road loads, oversized tires and high torque.
Key features
- Forged 4340 chrome/nickel (chromoly) alloy
- Extra material in the yoke area around the u-joint cap
- 35 splines
- Front Dana 60 axle type, no differential included
Axle swap planning
Axle shafts that carry heavier loads often fail at the yoke and spline area, so material in those zones matters for trucks used with larger tires. Chromoly alloys can handle high torque when the axle is matched to the gear ratio and the driveline angles. Before installing any heavy-duty shaft, check that the hubs, bearings and brakes are sized for the load.
Swapping to a stronger front axle usually affects the rest of the front end, including the driveline, u-joints and steering geometry. Keep the u-joint caps and yokes in good condition, and inspect the pinion angle after the install. Re-torque hub fasteners after the first few drives, since new components can settle.
- Check u-joint angles after installation
- Match spline count to the hub
- Inspect seals for leaks after the first drive

Vehicle fitment
The title names Ford F-250 and F350 with a Dana 60 front axle. Confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
This kit is a front Dana 60 unit, so rear axles and other axle types are not the match. Confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
An axle swap changes driveline geometry and wheel bearing setup, so have a shop confirm the spline count and axle length before installing.
What’s included
The kit is the front axle only, supplied without a differential.
Not included: No differential is included with this axle.
