Adjuster lever service
The self adjuster lever moves the adjuster wheel when the shoes wear, keeping the shoes close to the drum. When the lever binds or fails to engage, the shoes drift away from the drum and pedal travel grows. A worn lever can also let the adjuster slip, so the wear shows up as a high or spongy pedal.
