Overview
The ARB Spare Tire Carrier in Black Powder Coat, part number 5750320, is a vehicle-specific spare tire carrier for the Jeep Wrangler JK. It is designed to accommodate a tire up to 40 inches. Its large pivot spindle removes almost all of the tire’s weight from the factory rear door, reducing stress on the factory hinges while still allowing synchronized opening and swing-out. The carrier was developed for the growing trend toward larger wheel and tire combinations on the JK Wrangler.
ARB designed this carrier alongside its JK Wrangler rear bumper, which integrates with a factory fitted or aftermarket receiver hitch mounted to the center of the chassis rear cross member. The rear bumper can be installed without the carrier. The carrier is made for the Jeep Wrangler JK.

Loads, lights and accessories
A carrier that holds a larger tire puts a lot of weight at the rear of the vehicle, so the pivot, bushings and mounting points work harder than they do on a stock setup. Keeping the bushings lubricated and the pivot bolts tight helps the door move smoothly. A loaded carrier is heavy, so plan lifting and swing-out with a helper or with a stable spot to rest the weight.
The high mount and jack mount brackets are useful for extra lights, antennas or a jack, but each accessory adds weight and wind load. Before adding anything, check how it will be wired and where it will sit when the door is open. Route wiring away from the pivot and sharp edges so it does not chafe as the carrier swings.

Installation notes
The rear bumper can be installed without the carrier, so the bumper can go on first and the carrier can be added later. The Hi-Lift jack mount bracket and the high mount bracket add mounting points for accessories, so decide which accessories you plan to use before fitting. A loaded carrier is heavy, so have a helper when lifting it onto the pivot.
