Overview
Part number AR40CARM603 is an ARB Intensity 40 inch LED light bar designed for bull bar or roof rack mounting. Universal Fit is listed, so the bar is not built for a single vehicle model.
A purpose-built heat sink and mounting bracket hold the bar steady, which ARB says gives a clearer view of the road than common mounts on other light bars. Two rows of 20 LEDs sit behind the patented lens and reflector design used across ARB Intensity LEDs, covered by a polycarbonate lens.
Key features
- Purpose-built heat sink and mounting bracket
- Bull bar or roof rack mounting
- Two rows, 20 individual LEDs each
- Same patented lens and reflector technology as existing ARB Intensity LEDs
- Polycarbonate lens that ARB describes as virtually indestructible
- Australian engineering with United States manufacturing
Mounting and wire routing
A 40 inch bar mounted on a bull bar or roof rack sees road vibration and wind load, so the mounting point should be solid before the light goes on. Check that the rack or bar is rated for the added weight and that the bar sits square and level. Keep the bar clear of the windscreen view and any panels that flex.
Routing the wiring is often the hardest part. Run the cable with clips along the rack, keep it away from sharp edges and moving parts, and connect the power feed through a fused relay. Loose connections cause flicker, so check terminals after the first few drives. Replace any cracked cable insulation before it leaks moisture into the circuit. A simple paper plan of the route before drilling saves rework.

Vehicle fitment
The bar is universal fit and is not built for a specific vehicle. You need a bull bar or roof rack on the vehicle to mount it, and the bar’s position is up to you.
Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
Plan the wire route before mounting, and connect the power feed through a fused relay. Local rules for driving lights vary, so check them before using the bar on a public road.
What’s included
Mounting hardware is not included with the bar, so check the package contents before starting.
Not included: You will need a bull bar or roof rack and any wiring harness, so have both ready before mounting.
