Description

Overview

The TeraFlex 1318010 is an Alpine IR long arm kit with brackets for the 2020–2022 Jeep Gladiator (JT) in the 80th Anniversary, Altitude, High Altitude, Launch Edition, Mojave, Overland, Rubicon, Sport, Sport S, Willys and Willys Sport trims. It has eight arms, covering the upper and lower arms at the front and the rear, and is designed for a 3 to 6-inch lift.

The arms provide adjustable alignment and use factory-style bushings that are designed to be maintenance-free. The long arm brackets mount to the frame at both the upper and lower points, and a front long arm crossmember adds strength. The kit can be added to an existing suspension lift.

Key features

  • Eight tube arms with flex joints, covering the front and rear, upper and lower
  • Adjustable alignment
  • Factory-style, maintenance-free bushings, per TeraFlex
  • Long arm brackets with upper and lower mounts in each bracket
  • Front long arm suspension crossmember

Long arm geometry explained

Long arms control axle location and take over much of the load that factory control arms carried. Because the arms use tube construction with flex joints, they allow articulation while holding the axle in place. Adjusting alignment on long arms changes the pinion angle and the axle position, so the setting should be checked after each change.

Flex joints and bushings take wear over time and should be checked after rough trail use. Look for play at the joints, cracked boots or squeaks over bumps. Driveline vibration can also point to a shift in axle angle. Keep crossmember bolts and bracket fasteners checked, since they carry the forces of the arms during articulation.

  • Flex joint play at each arm end
  • Bracket and crossmember fasteners
  • Driveline vibration after alignment changes

Questions & Answers

How many arms are in the TeraFlex 1318010?

Eight. They cover the front and rear, upper and lower positions, and the kit includes long arm brackets and a front long arm suspension crossmember.

What lift is the kit designed for?

A 3 to 6-inch lift. The kit is designed to be added to an existing suspension lift, which suits owners who already have a lift in place. It is built for the Gladiator's front and rear positions.

Does it fit a 2021 Gladiator Mojave?

Yes. The fitment covers the 2020–2022 Gladiator Mojave, which includes 2021. The Overland, Rubicon, Sport and Sport S trims are also covered for those years.

What should I check on long arms during routine service?

Check the flex joints for play, the bracket bolts for tightness and the bushings for splitting. Look at the front crossmember welds and mounts as well. Any change in steering feel or driveline vibration is a reason to recheck the alignment soon.
