Overview
The Rubicon Express RE1430 is a 2.5-inch standard leaf spring with five leaves for the 1987–1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ). The five-leaf pack can be used at the front or the rear.
The spring is a single unit with a lift height range of 0 to 4.99 inches. Bushings are not included, so plan for them separately.

Leaf spring setup
A leaf spring controls axle location and carries much of the vehicle’s weight, so the spring pack, shackles and bushings work as one system. When a spring is replaced, check the spring perch, the center bolt and the U-bolts for wear. Replacing a spring without inspecting these parts can leave the axle out of position.
Lift height affects how the axle sits under the frame and the angle of the driveline. After installation, check the pinion angle and the driveshaft joints, especially at the upper end of the lift range. Shackle and bushing wear increases with the extra load a lift places on the springs.
Retighten the U-bolts after the first few drives, since the new spring pack settles and the nuts can loosen.
