Overview
The Rubicon Express RE1425 is a 4-inch standard lift leaf spring for the 1987 to 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ. It has five leaves, a 2.5-inch width, and it is sold individually.
The leaf packs can be run in the front or the rear. The lift range is 0 to 4.99 inches, which suits the 4-inch lift it is named for on a YJ.

Leaf spring maintenance
Leaf springs carry the vehicle’s weight and control axle location, so a lift spring changes how the axle sits under the body. On a Wrangler YJ, the spring pack works together with the shackles and bushings at each eye, and the way the leaves stack determines how the vehicle rides both on pavement and on uneven ground.
Inspect the leaves for cracks, broken or shifted leaf clips, and sagging at the front or rear. Check the spring eyes for worn bushings, since loose eyes allow the axle to shift and can make steering feel vague. Tighten U-bolts after the first few drives, as they can settle.
When a spring is changed, related parts often need attention. Shock length, brake line slack and driveline angles should be checked after the lift is installed. Shackles and spring hangers are commonly refreshed with new bushings during the same job.
