Overview
The Rubicon Express 20 inch rear brake line set replaces the stock rubber brake lines on the Jeep Wrangler JK. The lines are 20 inches long, sold as a pair, and the kit includes two rear brake lines. The kit is made for 2 and 4-door models.
Each line is stainless steel braided with a vinyl cover, designed for a firmer and more responsive brake feel. The set suits lifted applications from 4 to 6 inches.
Key features
- Stainless steel braided lines
- Vinyl protective cover
- Teflon inner hose
- Mounting brackets included where necessary
- Meets DOT requirements
- Two rear lines per kit
Things to check
Rear brake lines carry fluid to the wheel cylinders or calipers and move with the axle as the suspension cycles. Over time, rubber lines can soften, crack or swell, which is one reason braided replacements are common on lifted Jeeps. A braided line with a Teflon inner hose holds its shape better under pressure changes, though the routing still matters.
When fitting rear lines, route them so they clear the springs, shocks and brake drum or rotor at full travel. Look for chafing at brackets and any contact with the frame. Bleed the system after the lines are in place and check the pedal feel before driving.
