Overview
The Pro Comp 5.5 inch rear lift block with U-bolt kit (part 58552) provides a 5.5 inch rear lift using two cast iron riser blocks. The blocks are tapered, and the taper is designed to improve driveshaft angles.
The kit comes boxed with the hardware needed to fasten the blocks: four U-bolts, eight heavy duty flat washers and eight hi-nuts.

Riser blocks and driveline angles
Riser blocks raise the rear axle relative to the frame, which changes the angle at each end of the driveshaft. Larger changes in angle can increase vibration and wear on the universal joints, so the driveline should be checked after the lift is installed. Cast iron blocks are heavy, and the mounting bolts should be tightened and checked at regular intervals.
Other parts commonly affected by a rear lift include brake lines, the parking brake cable, and the shock mounts. Look for rubbing on brake lines at full suspension travel and for vibration under acceleration. Tire clearance at the new height should also be checked before highway use. Keeping the spring pack in good condition helps the blocks sit squarely on the axle.
