The Omix-ADA 17740.06 is a gas filler hose for the 1987–1990 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) with a 15 gallon steel gas tank. It works only with that steel tank, so the tank type matters as much as the model year.

Filler hose and tank vent system
A gas filler hose works with the vent system to move fuel into the tank while letting vapor escape in a controlled way. When the hose is worn, a poor seal at the neck can let vapor leak out, and the smell can be noticeable around the fuel door. Checking the hose at each oil change or fuel system service catches this early.
