Overview
The Key Parts 0480-227L is a replacement rear floor pan for the driver side of the 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ. A rear floor pan is the sheet-metal floor section behind the front seats, and replacement panels are used to repair rust or collision damage. The panel is made from high gauge steel with an OEM Electro-Deposit primer (EDP) finish.
The panel is built to match factory fit and is used for rust and collision repair in the driver-side rear floor position.
Key features
- Replacement driver-side rear floor pan
- High gauge steel panel
- OEM Electro-Deposit primer (EDP) finish
- Its shape follows the original factory floor.
Rear floor repair sequence
A rear floor section supports the seats and sits near seat belt anchors and the fuel system, so repairs need careful planning. Rust often hides under carpet and insulation, so remove those first to find the full extent of the damage before cutting. Mark the cut line on solid metal and leave a clean edge for the new panel to butt against.
Fit the driver side rear panel dry, check that it sits level with the floor and the body side, and confirm the seat mounting points line up before welding. Protect the interior with covers and keep a fire extinguisher nearby. After welding, seal the seams and apply a coating to bare metal, since welds and grind marks need their own protection.
- Remove carpet and insulation to reveal rust
- Cut to solid metal and mark the line first
- Check seat mounting points after fitting
- Seal and coat new welds once finished
