Overview
The Icon Suspension 51100 is a rear expansion pack built as a three leaf progressive add-a-leaf kit. It fits Tacoma and Tundra trucks and adds 1.5 inches of lift. An add-a-leaf adds a spring leaf to the rear pack to raise the rear of the vehicle.
The kit includes U-bolts and center pins. Installation removes the factory overload.
Key features
- Adds 1.5 inches of rear lift
- Progressive rate add-a-leaf design
- Three leaf configuration
- Includes U-bolts and center pins
Rear lift and driveline checks
Adding leaves to the rear pack raises the rear of the truck, which changes pinion angle and driveline geometry. A higher rear end can increase the angle at the transfer case and driveshaft, which can cause vibration if it is not checked. Measuring the angles before and after the lift helps decide whether a driveshaft correction is needed.
Lift changes can also affect brake line length and hose travel, so inspect those lines after installation. Rear alignment changes too. Tire clearance, shock length and bump stops should be checked, since the taller rear end may load them differently. Retighten the U-bolts after the first few drives.
- Measure pinion and driveshaft angles
- Check brake hose length and routing
- Confirm tire clearance at full compression
