Overview
This front reservoir shock has a CD adjuster and a smooth body. It is a direct fit unit for 1999–2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty and F-350 Super Duty trucks, with a w/0 – 1 in. lift range.
Measure the shock you are replacing and compare it with the new unit before installing. Confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Key features
- Front position, direct fit
- Smooth body reservoir design with CD adjuster
- Stated lift range w/0 – 1 in.
Super Duty front-end upkeep
Ford Super Duty trucks carry heavy front axles and engines, so front shocks work hard on loaded hauling and rough roads. A worn shock lets the truck pitch more than it should and can shorten tire life through cupping. Inspect shocks along with ball joints, tie rod ends and wheel bearings at regular intervals.
When replacing a front reservoir shock, mount it in the original position and check that the reservoir hose clears the frame, springs and any steering components. Note the damping setting before removal. Many owners replace both front shocks together so the truck tracks evenly after the repair.
- Check tire wear patterns for cupping
- Inspect ball joints and tie rod ends together
- Route the reservoir hose clear of moving parts
- Replace front shocks as a matched pair
