Overview
The Dana Spicer 5-1330X is a 1330 Series U-joint that can be greased. It is a universal-fit joint, so match the series and cap size to your driveshaft.
A U-joint, also called a universal joint, lets a driveshaft transmit power through changing angles. The 5-1330X is part of the 1330 Series and can be greased.
Dana Spicer has made U-joints for well over 50 years, supplying heavy duty and light duty truck builders. This joint is universal fit, so match the series and cap size to your driveshaft.

Driveshaft joint maintenance
A U-joint takes the angle change between the transmission or transfer case and the axle, so it works through a constant cycle of load and movement. The bearing caps carry the load, and the cross journal is what wears when grease runs low or contaminated grease pushes out of the seals.
Lubeable joints can be greased to keep the bearings moving freely. Add grease until fresh grease shows at the seals, and wipe away excess. Greasing is most useful after washing the vehicle or after off-road use that exposes the joint to water and grit.
Driveshaft work affects balance. After any joint is replaced, check that the driveshaft is straight and that the yokes line up. Vibration that rises with speed often points to a balance or angle problem rather than a joint alone, so inspect both ends before deciding.

Vehicle fitment
It is a universal-fit joint. Confirm the 1330 series size and cap dimensions against your driveshaft yokes before use.
Driveshaft and yoke compatibility depends on the 1330 series size. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
- Driveshaft joints must be pressed and seated squarely, so have a driveline shop handle installation if you lack the tools.
- Check that the joint series and cap size match your driveshaft yokes before installing, and re-check for play after the first miles.
- Grease lubeable joints as the manufacturer directs, and balance and inspect the driveshaft after installation.
