Polycarbonate lens covers
Polycarbonate is a tough plastic often used for light lenses, and it resists impact better than standard acrylic. Over time, sun exposure can make the surface yellow or cloud, which reduces how clearly the lens shows light. Clean the cover with mild soap and water, and avoid ammonia-based or abrasive cleaners that leave fine scratches. Covers with a double row layout need a careful check that they sit flat against the light housing without bowing. Inspect the edges and mounting points after rough trail use, looking for cracks or loose fasteners. Replace the cover when cracks, haze or a poor seal appear, because water entering the housing can damage the LED board. Keeping the lens clean also preserves the light output the lamp was built to deliver.
