Key features

  • Rear add-a-leaf for the rear lift
  • Rear clevis mounts
  • Rear view mirror hanger
  • Hardware bag included
  • Black finish

Rear lift and alignment

When the front is raised with torsion keys, the rear is usually lifted too so the truck sits level. The rear add-a-leaf changes the leaf pack, so the rear springs carry load differently after installation. Look at the shackles, U-bolts and leaf clamps while the rear is apart, and replace any worn bushings before reassembly.

Because the front torsion bars are adjusted, the wheel alignment will change. Check the steering for play and inspect the front shocks, since they work at a different angle after the change. Re-tighten all fasteners after the first few trail runs or highway trips, and check tire pressure against the load the truck is carrying.

  • Inspect shackles and U-bolts
  • Check rear leaf clamps and bushings
  • Verify alignment after the torsion key change

Questions & Answers

Does the Tuff Country 12901 fit a 1995 Chevrolet K2500?

Yes. A 1995 model falls within the 1988-1998 Chevrolet K2500 range that it fits. Confirm your year and trim before ordering.

Does the kit change the rear as well?

Yes. The kit includes rear add-a-leafs and clevis mounts, so the rear is adjusted along with the torsion keys. Confirm your vehicle's year, model and trim before ordering.

What comes in the hardware bag?

The hardware bag comes with the torsion keys and rear parts. Check the package contents against your installation before starting.

Should the rear shocks be checked when the rear is lifted?

Yes. A rear lift changes the angle of the shocks, so inspect them for leaks, noise or uneven wear. Replacing worn shocks along with the lift helps the rear ride stay controlled.
