Description

Overview

The TeraFlex Alpine IR Rear Lower Long Arm Pair, part 1418560, is a set of rear lower long arms for the 2020-2026 Jeep Gladiator (JT). The arms give complete alignment adjustability when used with the matching bracket kit.

The arms use maintenance-free IR bushings, which allow unrestricted rotation and flex and help damp noise, vibration and harshness. They can be added to any existing suspension lift.

The arms are for JT models that have a suspension lift. Use them with the matching rear upper pair when a full rear arm set is needed.

Key features

  • Pair of rear lower long arms
  • IR flex joint bushings with unrestricted rotation
  • Maintenance-free design
  • Helps damp noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Complete alignment adjustability with the matching bracket kit
  • Can be added to any existing suspension lift

Lower arm angles and ride height

Lower long arms carry the axle’s fore and aft loads and set how the axle moves in relation to the frame. Their angle changes when the lift height changes, so the arms should be checked whenever the suspension is raised or lowered. A pair of arms should always be replaced together so both sides stay balanced.

Flex joint bushings such as IR bushings allow free rotation, which helps the arm move through its travel without binding. Inspect the bushings and joint ends for tears, play or damage from road debris. Keep the bracket hardware torqued to the vehicle’s specification, and recheck it after the first few trips off road.

  • Replace arms as a pair
  • Recheck bracket bolts after the first trips
  • Inspect flex joints for tears or damage

Questions & Answers

Is part 1418560 a rear lower or rear upper arm?

It is a rear lower long arm. The companion rear upper pair is TeraFlex part 1418550, and the two sets are meant to be used together with the matching bracket kit.

What bracket kit does this arm need?

The arm must be used with the Long Arm Bracket Kit, part 1968000, for JT models. That bracket kit is not included, so order it separately.

Does this set fit a Wrangler JL?

No. These long arms fit the 2020-2026 Jeep Gladiator JT only, so Wrangler JL and JK models are outside the fit.

How can I tell a rear lower arm bushing is worn?

Look for torn or split rubber, excess play in the joint when the arm is moved by hand, and a clunk or knock over bumps. Any of these means the bushing should be inspected and replaced before the next trip.
