Description

Overview

The Spidertrax Offroad WHS006 wheel spacers are 1.25 inch thick aluminum spacers with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern, finished in anodized blue. Spidertrax names front and rear Jeep WJ axles as the application, which covers the Grand Cherokee (WJ) from 1999 to 2004.

The 6061T6 aluminum is double anodized in dark blue. The spacers are wheel and hub centric. Fitment covers front and rear Jeep WJ axles only.

Key features

  • 1.25 inch thickness with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern
  • 6061T6 aluminum, double anodized dark blue
  • Wheel and hub centric design, per Spidertrax
  • Kit includes 2 spacers, 10 pre-installed wheel studs, 10 lugnuts and Loctite
  • Made in the USA

Wheel and hub centric fit

Hub centric spacers locate the wheel on the hub bore, so the load is carried by the hub rather than by the lug nuts alone. That matters for vibration: a wheel that is properly centered runs truer than one held only by the studs. Before fitting, check that the spacer bore matches the hub and that the hub face is clean and flat.

Hub spacers change the wheel’s position, so clearance at the caliper, fender and steering components should be rechecked after installation. Full steering lock and suspension travel are the two checks that reveal rubbing. Stud and nut torque should be rechecked too, because the wheel now sits in a new position. Hold onto the box until fit is confirmed, in case a part needs to be exchanged for a better match.

  • Check bore match before fitting
  • Recheck clearance at full lock
  • Retorque nuts after the first drive

Installation notes

The studs come pre-installed and Loctite is included. Check clearance at full steering lock and suspension travel after fitting, because hub spacers change wheel position.

Questions & Answers

Do the WHS006 spacers fit a Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Yes, for the WJ generation. The fitment covers front and rear Jeep WJ axles, which means Grand Cherokee (WJ) models from 1999 to 2004. Confirm your year, model and trim before ordering.

What bolt pattern does the WHS006 use?

It uses a 5 on 5 bolt pattern, with 1.25 inch thick 6061T6 aluminum spacers finished in anodized blue. Each spacer is wheel and hub centric.

What comes in the WHS006 kit?

The WHS006 kit holds two spacers, 10 standard wheel studs (pre-installed), 10 lugnuts and Loctite. Those are the only items named, so check before ordering whether anything else is needed.

Is the WHS006 made in the USA?

The WHS006 is made in the USA. Ask the seller about warranty coverage before buying, and hold onto the packaging until fit is confirmed.

What is the difference between hub centric and lug centric?

Hub centric spacers center on the hub bore, so the wheel is located by the hub rather than by the lug nuts alone. Lug centric designs rely on the nuts for centering. Hub centric fit reduces vibration, provided the bore matches.

Should wheel bearings be checked after fitting spacers?

Spacers move the wheel's load point, so inspect the bearings and hub for play if the vehicle develops noise or wander. A quick check is to rock the wheel at the top and bottom and feel for movement.
