Overview

Things to check
A black seat shows dust, scuffs and sun fading more quickly than lighter colors, so it helps to keep a soft brush and a mild cleaner handy. Dark vinyl also gets hot in direct sun, and a seat that has been parked in full sun may need a few minutes to cool before the belt buckle is touched.
Before installation, check the seat rails and the floor area under the seat for rust, cracks or loose fasteners. Rugged Ridge’s entries for this seat name the 1976–1983 Jeep CJ5 with Base, Golden Eagle, Laredo, Limited and Renegade trims, the 1976–1986 CJ7, the 1981–1985 Scrambler, the 1997–2002 Wrangler TJ and the 1987–1995 Wrangler YJ. Other generations, including the later Wranglers and the Cherokee XJ, are not on that list.
The 97-02 Jeep Wrangler entries need the seat adapters noted above, so check your year before installing. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
For 97-02 Jeep Wranglers, the seat adapters 13201.11 and 13201.12 are needed, with 13201.11 for the left side and 13201.12 for the right side. Otherwise the seat uses the factory mounting hardware and bolts. Keep the seat fully secured before driving.
