Overview
The Rugged Ridge Fog Light Euro Guards, part number 11231.23, are textured black guards that protect fog light lenses and add an off-road look. No drilling is required for installation.
These are lens-cover accessories for fog lights, so they only make sense on a vehicle that already has fog lights. They are not lamps and do not provide light.
Key features
- Textured black finish
- Protects fog light lenses
- No drilling required for installation
- Styled for an off-road look
Lens protection basics
Fog light lenses take a lot of stone impact and road grit, and a cover can absorb some of that before it reaches the lens. Covers also reduce the amount of dirt that builds up on the lens surface. They work best when the fit is snug without pressing on the lens.
Covers can reduce light output slightly, so check the beam pattern after fitting. Keep the guards clean, since trapped grit can scratch the lens. Remove the covers for thorough lens cleaning, and inspect the lens for chips after rough trail use.
A cover does not replace a damaged lamp. If a lens is cracked or the housing is moist inside, repair or replace the light before fitting covers.
- Check the guard shape against the lens before tightening
- Wipe guards and lenses with mild soap
- Recheck fit after washing the vehicle
