Overview
The Rubicon Express 4.5 inch front coil springs raise the front of the vehicle by 4.5 inches. They are sold as a pair and finished in silver powder coat, and they are made for the front position only.
Each coil is checked before it leaves the factory, and the pair is sold together for matched height. Confirm the vehicle, model year and body style before installing.
Key features
- 4.5 inch front lift
- Sold as a pair
- Silver powder-coated finish
- Each coil checked against Rubicon Express specifications
Front coil ride and steering
Front coils change the way the front end sits and steers, so they affect more than the height of the nose. Caster, camber and the position of the tie rod ends all shift when the front is raised, and the steering feel can change as a result.
After installation, check the alignment and inspect the ball joints, tie rod ends and track bar for wear. The new angles can load these parts differently than the old height did, so replacing worn ones at the same time keeps the front end stable.
Brake hose length and the front driveshaft or CV angles should also be checked after a front coil change. Recheck the steering and tire wear after the first few drives.
- Check alignment after installing
- Inspect ball joints and tie rod ends
- Verify brake hose length
