Coil springs carry the weight of the vehicle at each corner, so changing them changes ride height, suspension geometry and how far the suspension compresses. Raising the body can also change driveshaft angles and steering geometry, which is why the lift rating is only one part of the decision. Body style and axle setup matter just as much.
