Overview
The Rubicon Express RE7142 is a 3.5 inch standard coil lift kit without shocks for 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited four-door models. It replaces the front and rear coil springs and adds caster and pinion adjustment, bump stops, an adjustable front track bar and extended sway bar end links.
The RE7142 is a low-cost suspension package for the Wrangler JK that keeps the existing control arms. It is designed for 33 or 35 inch tires, with a lift height range of 3 to 4.99 inches.
The kit can be upgraded later to a 3.5 to 4.5 inch Super-Flex or a 3.5 to 4.5 inch Extreme-Duty long arm system by adding components. Long arm suspension has been offered for the JK Wrangler since 2006.

Setting caster and pinion
Cam bolts are the adjustment points that set caster and pinion angle after a coil lift with retained control arms. Caster affects steering return and straight-line tracking, while pinion angle affects driveline vibration. Setting both carefully helps the lift ride smoothly and wear the drivetrain evenly, and it is best done on an alignment rack with a driveline check.
Because the control arms stay in place, the adjustable front track bar is a key part of the alignment. Check its ends for play and its bushings for cracking during service. Long arm upgrades later change geometry more than the coil springs do, so plan a fresh alignment if those are added.
