Overview
The Omix-ADA 17740.05 is a gas tank filler hose for CJ8 models with a factory steel gas tank. It fits the 1981–1985 Jeep Scrambler and does not work with factory plastic oversized gas tanks.
It is too short for the 1981 CJ8 Scrambler, so that year does not fit. Check the model year and tank type before buying.

Tank type and filler hose compatibility
The filler hose has to match the tank it feeds. Steel tanks and plastic oversized tanks differ in neck height, mounting points and the angle the hose must take to reach the fill opening. Using a hose made for one tank type on the other can leave the joint under strain or misaligned, which can cause slow seepage.
Before you order, identify the tank on your vehicle by looking at its material and mounting. If the tank was replaced at some point, check that the hose still reaches the neck without stretching. A correct match keeps the filler route short and free of sharp bends.
