Overview
The Key Parts TorqueBox front floor brace, part number 0485-318, is a passenger-side replacement brace for the front floor area of a vehicle. Its material is high gauge steel, and the surface carries an OEM electro-deposit primer (EDP) coat.
This rust and collision brace is built to replicate factory fitment, with coverage wider than many competing parts. Match the side and position to your vehicle before ordering.
Key features
- Passenger-side front floor brace
- High gauge steel construction
- OEM electro-deposit primer (EDP) finish
- Direct fit in the front position, per Key Parts
Checking brace position
Floor braces add rigidity to the floor structure, so the position and shape of the part matter as much as the material. When a brace has rusted or been bent in a collision, the surrounding floor can flex, and seams may start to separate. Before removing anything, look at how the old brace is welded or fastened, and note which holes line up with the floor and body rails.
Spot welding is common on this type of panel, so plan for the tools you will need to cut, drill or grind the old part out. Clean the mating surfaces to bare metal and remove any sealer before fitting the replacement. Touch up exposed areas with primer after the new panel is set, since bare metal left under the floor can rust again quickly.
