Before you install
A mass air sensor measures the air entering the engine so the engine computer can set fuel delivery. A replacement only works when it reports airflow the way the original did, so the match to the engine matters more than the box graphics. Oil, dust and loose clamps can all upset the reading, so the intake tube and filter deserve a look before the new sensor goes in.
After fitting, start the engine and watch for check engine lights, rough idle or hesitation on the first few drives.
