Overview
The Jet Performance Products Powr-Flo TBI spacer, part 62170, is an anodized billet aluminum throttle body spacer for the 2008–2011 Toyota Sequoia in Limited, Platinum and SR5 trims. It fits between the throttle body and intake to change airflow.
Jet explains that the serrated bore raises air velocity entering the intake manifold, which delivers a denser charge to the combustion chamber. The company credits this design with improved throttle response and stronger mid-range and top-end power.
Key features
- Billet aluminum body, anodized
- Serrated bore that raises air velocity into the manifold
- Improved throttle response and power, per Jet
- Bolt-on installation
- Compatible with air intakes, computer mods and high-flow exhausts
Throttle response on the Sequoia
A TBI spacer raises the throttle body so the airflow path into the intake changes. In a large SUV, that can shift how quickly the engine responds when the pedal goes down, which is most noticeable at low speeds and when pulling a load. Results depend on the rest of the truck, so the spacer is best viewed as one part of an airflow setup.
Before installing, check that the throttle body gasket and intake seal are in good shape. Any leak at the joints will affect idle and response more than the spacer changes it. If the vehicle has an aftermarket air intake or exhaust, make sure those parts are installed correctly so the airflow stays consistent.
- Verify the throttle body gasket is undamaged.
- Tighten intake clamps and bolts after the first few drives.
- Watch for idle changes or check-engine lights after installation.
