The Crown Automotive D44JKBK is a rear axle bearing kit for 2- and 4-door Jeep Wrangler JK models with Dana 35 or Dana 44 rear axles. Each kit covers one axle shaft, so a rear axle with two shafts needs two kits.

Per-shaft planning
A rear axle has two shafts, and each one has its own bearing and seal at the outer end. Because this kit covers a single shaft, the job is planned by counting the shafts before ordering. Mixing a kit meant for one axle type with the other can leave a bearing seat that does not fit, so the axle type should be confirmed first.
Before pressing in a new bearing, clean the axle housing bore and look for scoring or rust. Check the shaft for wear where the bearing rides, and make sure the retainer and seal are seated flat. Wheel bearing play that returns after the job often points to a damaged bore rather than a bad bearing.
